General summary

Responsible for the reconciliation, processing and implementation of regulatory procedures to ensure regulatory compliance of federal programs. Serves as the main point of contact for University departments and administrative offices regarding Federal Work-Study. Assists with creating institutional grants and scholarships budget reports as needed. Collaborates with several departments to process and develop best practices for fund codes as well as training. Assists with the annual audit and year end closing.

Major duties

  • Serves as the Student Financial Aid office liaison to various departments regarding the Federal Work-study program. Conveys information about program requirements and deadlines departments and the University. Provides training and communication to audiences on and off campus.
  • Responsible for fiscal management and implementation of regulatory procedures to ensure regulatory compliance of relevant grants and scholarships.
  • Generates various reports from relational databases related to assigned programs. Resolves discrepancies or changes in eligibility and communicates those changes with students and departments.
  • Oversees and authorizes financial aid fund code requests submitted by campus departments . In conjunction with Scholarship Specialist, develops strategies for fund codes including process improvement. Creates and maintains policy and procedures and conducts trainings.
  • Under direction is responsible for analyzing, forecasting and reporting for institutional and federal programs. Assists with the annual audit and year-end closing.
  • Develops informational material, electronic content and web content for areas of responsibility. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required experience

  • Two years' related experience
  • Strong business computer skills, especially word processing, developing spreadsheets and database management.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to take initiative and proactively seek solutions to problems.
  • Ability to research regulations.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
