General summary

Develops, coordinates, manages, and instructs a credit-earning certificate program for incarcerated individuals.

Major duties

  • Develops program content, certification pathways, and services for targeted populations.
  • Coordinates with faculty, staff, and administrators from the University and with partner institutions.
  • Pursues external funding opportunities by preparing competitive grant applications.
  • Creates and develops assessments to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and impact.
  • Creates and develops a forecasted budget in collaboration with University administrative units.
  • May teach and oversee faculty and instructors, as program grows.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Some relevant experience.
  • Experience coordinating and teaching in correctional facilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, support and assess teaching faculty.
  • Understanding of the correctional system.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and assess curriculum.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
