General summary
Leads planning, delivery, and evaluation of Student programs and services. Directs the Kalamazoo Promise Scholars Program and support program as well as key components of the student development model.
Major duties
- Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and services. Provides leadership, and implementation of all programs and services of assigned special program or grant.
- Manages program budget and prepare financial reports. Ensures financial and budgetary accountability with the department, vice presidential area, University and funding agency as certified by unit supervisor. Seeks new funding opportunities in order to enhance programming.
- Manages and implements assigned components of the program model, such as leadership development, academic guidance, social connection, or coaching, to ensure an integrated, holistic student experience
- Maintains relationships with both internal and external entities to enhance programs and services within the unit. Collaborates with the University and community for continuity of service
- Monitors and ensures compliance with grant and external funding agency and regulations. Adheres to department and unit policies and procedures. Ensures that all program goals and objectives, as outlined by the grant are met by implementing the unit's continuous quality improvement process.
- Collects and analyzes program data and prepares required evaluation reports, including quarterly and annual submissions, to meet the expectations of stakeholders and unit leadership.
- Engages with program scholars to foster a strong sense of belonging and enhance overall program effectiveness. Provides support to affiliated student organizations, including occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with diverse college students.
- Experience in program development and implementation.
- Proficient with spreadsheet and office software.
- Budget management experience.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
