General summary

Provides leadership in external operations to include marketing, communications, fan engagement, revenue generation, sponsorship, ticket operations and licensing. Supervises various sports as directed

Major duties

  • Manages the strategic communications function of the athletic department. Creates communication plans, manages digital and social media, monitors engagement and seeks to effectively engage the community and various stakeholders in the stories and successes of the athletic department.
  • Engages in the department's educational plan on name, image and likeness activities for student-athletes through content creation and digital media strategies for teams and student-athletes.
  • Supervises several key revenue generation functions of the Athletic Department. Seeks to maximize revenue opportunities and grow resources through ticket sales and sponsorship. Partners with University’s key stakeholders on merchandising and licensing.
  • Responsible for creative and innovative game-day promotions and experiences to grow fan attendance, connect with the community and create excitement at home athletic events. Supervises and executes in-game elements, and in-game promotions.
  • Supervises BroncoVision productions, ensuring creation of innovative and creative content to assist with promotional, and recruiting efforts, as well as streaming opportunities for live athletic contests.
  • Supervises the department's fan engagement efforts, including chairing the Fan Engagement Committee and utilizing fan feedback to create a robust gameday experience. Ensures positive relationships between the athletics department and key stakeholders, to include alumni, local community, fans, parents, faculty and other University constituents.
  • Serves as a sport supervisor for specific intercollegiate athletic programs under direction. Serves on the department's Sport Supervision Team, providing streamlined policy and management of all sport programs.
  • Serves as a member of the athletics leadership team, providing strategic direction on the affairs of the entire department of athletics.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Eight years' relevant experience.
  • Experience working within an intercollegiate athletics department.
  • At least four years' demonstrated experience in revenue generation activities such as ticket sales, sponsorship or licensing activities.

Physical requirements

Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.
