General summary

Coordinates professional development for residents, mentors and new teachers engaged in the Urban Teacher Residence Program.

Major duties

  • Coordinates integration of coursework into residents' internship tasks. Checks discussion board, prompts discussions, and verifies new residents are applying coursework to internship position.
  • Assists with the resident internship twelve-month master program. Schedules semester meetings with mentors.
  • Coordinates orientation for mentors.
  • Coordinates new teacher induction program.
  • May present pre-designed content.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Experience mentoring pre-service or new teachers.
  • Experience teaching in urban schools.
  • Deep knowledge of K-12 curriculum and instruction.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
