General summary

Leads the Broncos Empowered Program, which serves as the student-athlete, staff, coach and community development unit within Intercollegiate Athletics. . Collaborates with internal and external partners to create the holistic development program for student athletes. Manages and supports student athletes with name, image, and likeness activities in compliance with applicable policies and laws.

Major duties

  • Creates and manages a comprehensive student-athlete development program focused on the holistic development of University student-athletes. Delivers student athlete centric programming centered on personal health and wellness, leadership and career development, community engagement, life after college, financial literacy, and other related topics.
  • Manages the athlete network for student athletes, which connects alumni and current student-athletes with mentors. Serves as a liaison to internal programs to assist with stewardship and professional networking connections for alumni and current student-athletes.
  • Develops leadership, mentoring, and professional development programming for athletic department coaches and staff, centered on personal and career growth, and effective leadership techniques. Assists and promotes the department’s diversity, equity, and inclusion program.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to manage the name, image, and likeness program. Develops robust education related to entrepreneurship, marketing, brand building and other related topics. Provides content distribution resources and maintains local connections to generate more opportunities for University student athletes. Advises relevant committees and student-athlete leadership groups.

  • Manages the department’s efforts to identify, nominate, and pursue national awards opportunities for student athletes, staff, and coaches.
  • Serves as a member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic direction on the affairs of the department of athletics.
  • May serve as a sport supervisor for specific intercollegiate athletic programs as directed by department leadership. Serves as a member of the department’s sport leadership team, providing streamlined policy and management of all sport programs.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Eight years' relevant experience.
  • Experience working within a university setting.
  • At least four years' demonstrated experience in managing student holistic development programming.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical requirements

Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
