General summary

Provides resiliency services to elementary school staff and students. Supervises University student interns as they provide support for teachers in the classroom.

Major duties

  • Provides resiliency services at elementary schools. These include assisting teachers with regulating students in the classroom, outreach to families, and facilitating social skill groups at recess and lunch.
  • Supervises University student interns. Facilitates discussion regarding asynchronous training materials. Supports student interns as they work in elementary classrooms.
  • Assists with creation and implementation of asynchronous training materials related to trauma, regulation, and relationships for University student interns.
  • Collaborates with resiliency staff.
  • Completes resiliency assessments at center as time allows.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in trauma assessment or treatment.

Required other

  • Licensure as Master-level Social Worker (LLMSW or LMSW) in the State of Michigan.
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Limited License Psychologist, or other health and human service license.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
