General summary
Supports the management of the Autism Services Center. Collaborates with University departments and community entities.
Major duties
- Provides direct services to University students with autism and their families. Assesses skills and implements interventions.
- Provides training to students, who provide direct services to University students with autism.
- Conducts evaluation activities to measure the effectiveness of interventions used with young adults with autism.
- Develops and maintains the overall system of management of the center.
- Assists with the development of models of service to meet the needs of students and families and to collaborate with campus and community partners.
- Supports incoming students and families with the transition to the University and may include participation in student recruitment and yield efforts.
- Oversees marketing communication activities, may represent the department at tabling events.
- Identifies and applies for external funding opportunities. Oversees adherence to timelines and submission of reports.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Experience in behavior analytic services.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in systems of management.
- Experience working with teens and young adults with autism and other disabilities.
Required other
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst; Licensure as a behavior analyst in the State of Michigan
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
