General summary
Part of the Broncos Empowered team which will serve as the official Student-Athlete, Staff, Coach and Community Development department within athletics. Works collaboratively with coaches, support staff, alumni and the University’s community to assist in the execution of Broncos Empowered, a program focused on student-athlete holistic development, community engagement and professional development of staff and coaches.
Major duties
- Creates, organizes, executes, evaluates career development programs for all Student-Athletes. Helps prepare student athletes for participation in University Career Fairs and college events. Creates and manages a mentorship program for student-athletes.
- Manages the Bronco Athlete Network. Serves as the Athletic Department liaison to the Bronco "W" Club, assisting with stewardship and professional networking connections between Bronco alumni and student-athletes.
- Responsible for sustaining existing relationships and cultivating new relationships with employers, alumni, donors, and corporate partners in order to secure opportunities for internships, and, employment for all student-athletes.
- Identifies the needs of prospective employers, researches and stays updated on new potential employers and contacts. Conducts regular site visits, cold calls and emails, attends employer events, and collects data on key employment and post-grad metrics for Athletics.
- Assists with the athletic department's efforts to identify, nominate and pursue national awards opportunities for student-athletes, staff and coaches.
- Provides support and assists with the execution of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Name, Image and Likeness, and the diversity task force.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience
- Experience with intercollegiate athletics.
- Success working with a culturally diverse student- athlete population

- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Desired experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Actively served relevant professional organizations in the area of external operations, such as National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
Physical requirements
Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
