General summary

Oversees programs and supervises staff within Global Education. Collaborates with leadership to build programs and initiatives.

Major duties

  • Collaborates to plan, design and budget for Global Learning unit programs. Supervises implementation of Global Learning unit programs.
  • Assists with plans and oversight for development of short-term incoming English as Second Language and non-English as Second Language programs and implementing participant activities.
  • Supervises the administration of international students and Center English Language and Culture for International Students orientation programs.
  • Bridges curricular global learning program components, such as courses, guest lectures, workshops and conferences, with non-curricular activity programming.
  • Oversees assessment of international student integration among students, both domestic and international, and faculty. Assesses and evaluates current levels and develops a plan to further integrate international students on campus.
  • Works with other offices and organizations to implement best practices for integrating international students into the academic, co-curricular, and social life of the university and community.
  • Aids with identification and application of external funding opportunities and pursuance of alumni engagement efforts.
  • Presents international and Center English Language and Culture for International Students as intellectual resources for the University and the community.
  • May assist the passport processing facility. May be involved with outreach and other duties as assigned.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience
  • Experience working in an international office, project management, or teaching experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
