General summary

Oversees the engagement and growth of the University’s mid-level leadership donors. Engage with donors to deepen their relationships with the University while leading a team of frontline fundraisers.

Major duties

  • Analyzes leadership giving program needs, creates strategic direction, and designs exceptional engagement plans for fundraising outreach.
  • Assigns fundraisers to portfolios that map to their skill sets and strengths, adjusting as necessary based on changes in campus priorities or fundraising landscape.
  • Tracks and reviews leadership gifts overall performance metrics.
  • Stewards and grows a portfolio of key donors. Builds sustainable relationships through individualized engagement and personal visits.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or related field.
  • Demonstrated professionalism.
  • Capable of motivating volunteers and donors.
  • Strong self-motivation.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a complex organization.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
