General summary
Oversees marketing plans and game presentation for assigned sports, with the primary goals of increasing attendance, enhancing the fan experience, and growing the Bronco Athletic Brand.
Major duties
- Directs game presentations for assigned sports, including game scripts, promotions, music and band, videoboard content, and all in-game elements.
- Collaborates with external staff in order to develop comprehensive plans for assigned sports.
- Coordinates any on-campus events needed to promote upcoming games and increase University athletics within the campus community and student body.
- Oversees all customer entertainment programming for home games and contests. Synchronizes integration of key game-day groups.
- Assists with all marketing and advertising plans.
- Contributes to the coordination of weekly e-blasts, emails, push notifications and any other digital marketing assets used to promote home contests, special events, and ticket promotions.
- Assists with the creation of design elements, including print collateral, social media graphics, and other design pieces used for promotional purposes.
- Manages budget and business office needs for assigned sports.
- Responsible for compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association, Mid-American Conference, National Collegiate Hockey Conference, Missouri Valley Conference and the Universities policies and procedures.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Experience working in NCAA Division I collegiate athletics or professional sports marketing.
- Experience working with administrators, coaches and student-athletes.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent graphic design abilities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate the Department of Athletics vision through to the game day experience.
- Social media experience with current and emerging applications.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
