General summary
Directs and oversees business and financial operations for a large, complex division.
Major duties
- Directs business operations within the division, including but not limited to accounting and finance, human resources and marketing.
- Develops business plans and manages special projects and operational analyses. Develops short and long-term planning models and methodologies to meet divisional vision.
- Directs division finances to ensure appropriate resource allocation, consistency and coherency.
- Develops, implements and oversees policies and procedures to ensure adherence to University policies and government regulations. Conducts audits and ensures integrity of financial operations. May oversee external auditors.
- Evaluates and manages contracts, budgets and negotiated agreements. May participate in capital project planning and development.
- Establishes divisional policies and resolves operational issues.
- Manages business office professional and support staff.
- May assist with the completion of special projects and University wide initiatives.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required experience
- Eight years' relevant experience.
- Leadership experience in business operations in large, complex organization(s).
- Analytical and planning skills.
- Budget management including fiscal analyses.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
