General summary
Manages and oversees the awarding of college scholarships. Develops and implements scholarship strategies as they pertain to recruitment and marketing. Serves as point person for donor logistics and outreach.
Major duties
- Oversees college-level scholarship strategy and process including application, review and disbursement for all college and department awards. Ensures accurate and equitable disbursement of awards.
- Collaborates with the financial aid office, serves as college point person for financial aid operations. Works and advises students on scholarship guidelines, financial aid program rules, and student account balances.
- Serves as college point person with University Advancement. Utilizes customer relationship management software to analyze donor data and strategic outreach initiatives.
- Works closely with college leadership, marketing and recruitment to develop new scholarships that will aid retention and recruitment efforts.
- Trains staff and administers and maintains the scholarship matching system. Serves as college point-person for scholarship software.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
- Experience working with scholarships, financial aid, higher education, pre-college programming or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
