General summary

Oversees the audiovisual systems and applications for assigned departments. Provides clients with event preparation and planning services.

Major duties

  • Manages and supports building-wide audiovisual technology including lighting controls. Collaborates with other departments to assist with routine audiovisual support and upkeep.
  • Provides support and oversight of the Student Center game room.
  • Provides event planning services for assigned areas, deparments and clients.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements technological process improvements and policy changes related to meeting room audiovisual technology, and game room.
  • Confirms technical and audiovisual services and standards comply with internal policies and industry standards. Ensures software is updated routinely, and hardware is functioning properly.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises student employees. Trains student employees on the use of Student Center meeting room and building technology.
  • Assists in managing and overseeing alcohol service including scheduling student employees, managing inventory, and day-of supervision.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required experience

  • Some relevant experience.
  • Experience working with audio-visual technology systems.
  • Experience working with gaming consoles.
  • Experience with event management.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of constituents.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be over 21 due to alcohol licensing laws.

Desired qualifications

Desired education

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.

Desired experience

  • Two Years’ experience.

Physical requirements

Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
