General summary
Oversees the recruitment and yield of undergraduate students from key populations. This position involves developing and executing comprehensive recruitment and yield initiatives to attract and enroll students from these populations, ensuring effective engagement with students, families, school counselors, and community partners.
Major duties
- Collaborates with admissions leadership to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate recruitment and yield initiatives targeting strategic populations.
- Develops and foster campus and community partnerships to enhance the effectiveness of admissions efforts.
- Provides direct supervision to team members focusing on strategic populations. Partners with team members to plan and execute activities and initiatives effectively.
- Utilizes data sources to run reports and analyze data for insights, opportunities, and direction for recruitment and yield initiatives.
- Makes data-driven recommendations to enhance strategies for attracting strategic populations.
- Manages a recruitment territory, serving as the primary University liaison for students, families, and high school counselors.
- Makes admission decisions and advocates for students within the assigned geographic area.
- Builds and maintains relationships with college counseling colleagues in the territory.
- Coordinates training programs for Office of Admissions and college recruitment team members on relevant programs and services. Ensures team members are well-equipped to share information with prospective students and families.
- Hires trains and evaluates and supervises staff.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience
- Understanding of college admissions.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills.
- Ability to communicate with students, coworkers and general public.
- Effective public speaking skills.
- Proven attention to detail.
Required other
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
