General summary
Maintains Structured Query Language (SQL) server databases, including designing, developing software code, and maintaining applications across multiple software systems.
Major duties
- Manages SQL Server environments in collaboration with other database administrators.
- Maintains and develops software including data and system integration using a variety of tools, databases, and languages.
- Integrates data using scripting, Application Programming Interface, and database utilities.
- Administers and monitors application software including troubleshooting back-end code, managing the database robot system, and managing security components of these systems.
- Authors and maintains a comprehensive documentation system housing critical information including disaster recovery procedures and maintenance activities for mid-tier systems.
- Ensures documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and actionable, facilitating seamless support provision by team members in the absence of others.
- Develops specialized documentation specifically tailored for recovering after a disaster, ensuring preparedness and effective response to critical situations.
- Manages projects, work orders, change requests, maintenance of information not held inside the Information Technology Service Management and other tasks relating to database maintenance.

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of database administration and database systems.
- Knowledge and experience with server operating systems and Linux server systems.
- Coding fluency in or that can transfer readily to script writing.
- Programming capability.
- Knowledge regarding disaster recovery.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends and on call duties.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
