General summary
Supports the implementation of alumni initiatives and programs to engage alumni with special focus on WMed and Health Sciences Alumni.
Major duties
- Supports the implementation of initiatives, communications, events and special projects to engage alumni of all ages.
- Coordinates with relevant departments for annual student and resident graduate data uploads to the alumni database, ensuring accuracy. Acquires knowledge of new technology and policy revisions.
- Elevates the awareness and perception of the alumni association and the University among constituents.
- Plans and executes multiple projects, programs and activities as assigned by the department.
- Establishes relationships with diverse groups of alumni and works towards enhancing communication and visibility among these groups. Responds to alumni communication in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with other staff members as needed.
- Tracks alumni relations activities in a database.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year’s relevant experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to provide a high-level of customer service to external and internal candidates.
- Proficient in office software, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
- Familiar with databases.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Displays creativity in work.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
