General summary

Develops and implements strategies to build relationships with corporate recruiters and hiring managers. Manages recruiting functions, including career fairs, and collaborates with faculty to connect employers with students

Major duties

  • Develops and directs College-wide employer relations strategies to enhance recruiting practices.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws, optimizes use of the job posting portal, boost student experiential education participation, and improves post-graduation outcomes.
  • Collaborates with faculty to plan events and support recruitment.
  • Manages employer recruitment of business students by working with employers to develop internship programs.
  • Organizes employer-hosted events such as career fair preparation, practice interviews, and resume critiques, and builds new employer connections.
  • Oversees relationship management, and recognition functions for the business college. Engages current and prospective employers in targeted career events and recruiting initiatives, while proactively building new employer relationships aligned with student and faculty interests.
  • Writes, edits, and proofreads marketing materials, press releases, and content for business college employer relations and employment-related websites. Develops website content in compliance with standards and regulations. Collaborates to execute marketing and website strategies.
  • Plans and executes strategic planning and budgeting for employer relations.
  • Ensures department strategic plan is being met.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing relationships with employers.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Experience with office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Experience in teaching, advising and career development.
  • Experience working with college students.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
