General summary
Processes gifts, prepares deposits and carries out other clerical functions. Records, maintains, and documents, private gifts and grants. Responsible for creating annual and semi-annual reports.
Major duties
- Processes gifts, pledges, online gifts and event services, matching gifts, deferred gifts, and other contributions. Ensures accurate processing, receipting, and reporting.
- Assists in preparing reports for the WMU Foundation’s annual audit and tax filings.
- Answers phone calls and responds to emails from donors, alumni and University staff to resolve problems with gift records. Performs timely follow-up as needed to resolve issues.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Keen attention to detail.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
