General summary
Leads the recruiting and yield of incoming first-year students. Assists with developing strategies and initiatives with oversight of territory management concepts and processes.
Major duties
- Manages recruitment and yield efforts to maximize market share and ensure effective enrollment of new students.
- Serves and manages recruitment territory. Identifies and develops new recruitment opportunities and timely strategies to increase enrollment.
- Measures and analyzes effectiveness of recruitment and yield strategies. Uses data to identify trends and patterns that impact recruitment and yield.
- Promotes and represents the University at on and off-campus events, including high school visits, college fairs, and community events. Builds and maintains relationships with external stakeholders.
- Remains current with contemporary admissions and enrollment management approaches and best practices, including best practices in recruitment communication technologies.
- May also serve transfer student populations.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Knowledge of admissions and student recruitment.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Required other
- Ability to travel frequently within identified territory.
- Ability to travel elsewhere, on a limited basis.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds. Must be able to travel independently and navigate environments that may be encountered while traveling.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
