General summary
Provides strategic leadership for the systems and technologies supporting all University Advancement functions. Oversees enterprise platforms. Manages the full technology environment, and directs data governance, system policies, and operational workflows. Also responsible for budgets, contracts, and vendor management to ensure alignment and fiscal responsibility
Major duties
- Leads the strategic vision, planning, and governance of the advancement technology ecosystem, Customer Relations Management software, marketing automation, and data infrastructure to ensure alignment with institutional goals and future scalability.
- Directs and mentors a cross-functional team responsible for advancement operations and technology services, guiding priorities in data management, business processes, and systems administration.
- Manages the division’s full technology environment to ensure efficiency and serves as the liaison with OIT for contract and compliance reviews.
- Partners across campus to align technical solutions with business needs, ensuring advancement systems and processes support shared strategic goals.
- Manages technology and operations budgets, aligning resource planning with strategic initiatives while ensuring cost-effective investment in platforms, staffing, and infrastructure.
- Oversees external vendor relationships and contract lifecycles, including negotiation, renewals, compliance monitoring, purchasing, and performance evaluation.
- Develops and enforces policies governing data security, privacy, confidentiality, and operational standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and institutional risk mitigation.
- Leads operational alignment across teams impacting data flow and segmentation, shaping workflows, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting strategic use of engagement metrics.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff.

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Experience with project management.
- Experience in higher education advancement work.
- Experience with fundraising, alumni relations and donor relations.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
