General summary
Distributes parking permits to University community. Provides information to customers on University parking rules and regulations, and collects parking ticket payments.
Major duties
- Distributes parking permits to the University community. Assists with parking registration for students, employees and visitors.
- Assists campus departments with parking event logistics, including towing and other emergency vehicle and parking issues.
- Utilizes the State of Michigan Law Enforcement Information Network system within established regulations to verify vehicle registration and ownership.
- Processes Bronco identification cards for students, employees and visitors, including taking photos, issuing cards and establishing accounts.
- Assists with technology and equipment related to identification cards.
- Accepts payments for parking tickets. Reconciles cash received and prepares bank deposits.
- Answers customer questions in person concerning parking rules, regulations and directions on campus.
- Utilizes computer system and software for cash handling, reporting and journal entry processes.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required experience
- One years' relevant experience.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Experience with using and querying databases and entering tracking budget data.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
