General summary

Responsible for leading fan engagement and brand advancement for the University’s Athletics department. Oversees marketing, promotions, and in-venue experiences to boost visibility, attendance, and community connection. Manages Bronco Productions, including creative services, digital strategy, and live event production. Supervises select sports as assigned

Major duties

  • Oversees development and execution of fan engagement strategies for all home athletic events. Leads the planning of promotions and manages game-day elements. Collaborates with campus departments, student groups, and community organizations to drive student involvement and campus-wide engagement.
  • Ensures consistent visual identity, tone, and messaging across all platforms and initiatives. Develops and executes strategies to elevate and unify the Bronco Athletics brand at both regional and national levels.
  • Oversees digital marketing efforts including email campaigns, social media, and web content. Supervises creation of graphics, video, and storytelling content to support athletic programs, revenue generation, and recruiting. Analyzes digital performance data to optimize engagement and inform strategy across platforms.
  • Manages the marketing and fan engagement budget, ensuring strategic use of resources aligned with departmental goals. Tracks expenses and evaluates return on investment (ROI) for marketing campaigns, promotions, and production efforts.
  • Collaborates across the Athletic Department to ensure alignment and maximize impact of marketing and fan engagement initiatives.
  • Directly supervises a team of full-time marketing team. Oversees staffing and operational planning for all in-game presentation elements.
  • Serves as sport administrator for assigned teams and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Progressive experience in NCAA Division I Athletics or professional sports focusing on marketing, fan engagement or digital strategy.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to align game day execution with departments vision and brand.
  • Working experience of graphic design and creative content development.
  • Experience managing and growing engagement across existing and emerging social media platforms.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds. Noise, hot/cold in reference to game day environments with or without accommodations.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
