General summary
Provides academic advising and program management for international student initiatives, with a focus on undergraduate and graduate students affiliated with partner institutions. Supports strategic partnerships and oversees advising responsibilities to ensure student success and program alignment with University goals.
Major duties
- Advises prospective and enrolled international students on academic requirements, admissions processes, and curriculum planning. Supports registration, graduation audits, and academic record updates.
- Coordinates course scheduling and ensures accurate coding of academic programs and advisor assignments. Develops collaborative relationships with University stakeholders to support student success and program alignment.
- Manages specialized advising responsibilities for international student initiatives, including orientation programs, advising events, and student record maintenance.
- Coordinates meetings, agreements, and conduct-related matters.
- Oversees academic and behavioral support for international students.
- Leads recruitment and retention initiatives for international student programs.
- Collaborates with University offices to support international student programs, including admissions, transcript evaluation, graduation processing, and diploma coordination.
- Fosters a safe and inclusive environment and promotes equity through effective communication and partnership with campus stakeholders.
Minimum qualifications

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
- One year of experience working with college students.
- Demonstrated awareness of the diverse needs of students, faculty and staff from underrepresented backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with culturally diverse students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to promote and participate in professional development focused on the unique needs of culturally diverse students, faculty and staff, including culturally responsive advising.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to travel in-state, out-of-state and internationally.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
