General summary
Leads and coordinates interprofessional education initiatives across academic units and University auxiliary health services. Collaborates with faculty, staff, administrators, and clinical partners to promote interdisciplinary learning and team-based care preparation in diverse health and human service environments.
Major duties
- Coordinates interprofessional education learning experiences across academic programs to ensure alignment with national core competencies and accreditation standards.
- Collaborates with academic leadership and faculty to integrate interprofessional education into curricula and clinical practice environments.
- Leads committees and work groups to support cross-unit engagement and development of a core interprofessional education curriculum.
- Designs and facilitates workshops, simulations, case-based learning, and community-based projects.
- Provides education and training on interprofessional principles and methodologies. Supports ongoing integration of interprofessional education initiatives.
- Promotes integration of interprofessional education experiences within University auxiliary health services and identifies opportunities for student engagement in real-world settings.
- Fosters partnerships with external healthcare organizations to support collaborative learning and practice.
- Leads development, implementation, and evaluation of interprofessional education initiatives. Assesses effectiveness using data to support continuous improvement and communicate outcomes.
- Pursues external funding opportunities and supports grant writing efforts to sustain and expand interprofessional education programs.
- Represents the University at institutional and regional interprofessional education initiatives, conferences, and partnership activities.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Experience in academic, clinical or healthcare education setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of interprofessional education principles, practices and accreditation standards.
- Experience leading cross-disciplinary initiatives or projects.
- Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-function disciplines.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to travel.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
