General summary
Provides strategic leadership and oversight for graduate student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management. Develops and implements data-informed strategies to attract, admit, and retain a diverse and highly qualified graduate student population. Collaborates with academic departments and campus partners to align enrollment goals with institutional priorities and ensures compliance with University and federal policies.
Major duties
- Leads graduate recruitment team and drives enrollment efforts, including overseeing and evaluating recruitment and yield activities, reporting and monitoring enrollment data, and collaborating with colleges and departments to assess capacity and areas for strategic growth.
- Provides oversight into the monitoring and development of strategic data for analysis of comparative trends and recruitment and yield efforts. Creates and circulates resources University-wide for departments to utilize with best practices, enrollment trend data, and other materials.
- Compiles and maintains data on enrollment funnel metrics and quantifying marketing, social media, communication strategies and efforts to review effectiveness.
- Develops and implements a data-driven, strategic graduate enrollment management plan that enhances department, college, and university goals.
- Oversees the evaluation, development and monitoring of all graduate admission policies, practices and procedures in order to ensure effective and efficient admission operations.
- Directs the development, implementation, and evaluation of graduate recruitment events and yield programs and coordinates and integrates efforts with those at the department and college level in order to enhance the institution’s ability to attract new and talented graduate students.
- Serves as the lead on the new student recruitment and current student outreach efforts and directs the graduate recruitment master communication plan. Collaborates with University departments to ensure smooth transition throughout the enrollment process.
- Provides leadership for curriculum development and processes, working with academic colleges, chairs/directors, faculty and staff of graduate programs. Develops and maintains external partnerships to support recruitment efforts.
- Provides guidance and oversight on University policies and procedures related to graduate education. Assists with strategic planning and prioritization of graduate college functions and improvement of efficiencies. Oversee the Graduate College ambassador program.
- Hires trains, evaluates, and manages enrollment personnel and student employees to advance university enrollment goals.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Progressive experience in graduate admissions, enrollment management, or related areas in higher education.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience in management including staff development and performance management.
- Strong understanding of graduate admission processes, enrollment trends and compliance with institutional, state and federal regulations.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
