General summary

Assists in the development and advancement of central endpoint management strategies and tools used to configure all organization owned devices.

Major duties

  • Supports compliance efforts across all University-owned devices by managing and monitoring workstation patching to uphold university policies and security standards.
  • Provides expert consulting services to IT units on configuration management systems, offering guidance and best practices to enhance operational consistency.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of the University’s centralized imaging process, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with institutional goals.
  • Designs and automates a centralized application repository for deployment to faculty, staff, and students through multiple delivery mechanisms, ensuring accessibility and version control.
  • Assists in the development and enhancement of configuration management systems, contributing to architecture, deployment strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supports university-wide standardization efforts focused on streamlining end-user device configuration and administration.
  • Collaborates with the security and privacy team to develop and implement robust information security controls that meet institutional objectives and regulatory requirements.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Five years' relevant experience.

Required experience

  • Experience with scripting, imaging development, application packaging and deployment, and workstation configuration management.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
