General summary
Collaborates with faculty and instructors to develop and administer faculty led study abroad programs and supports leadership with the overall administration of study abroad operations. Manages daily functions of the study abroad application system to ensure efficient and accurate processing. Provides advising to students, responds to health and safety situations abroad, and supports additional administrative functions to facilitate successful study abroad experiences.
Major duties
- Assists with the development and administration of faculty led study abroad programs by collaborating with faculty to design programs, create program budgets, and provide guidance on related procedures and policies.
- Supports the development of program materials, faculty training, pre departure orientations, course registration processes, marketing efforts, and advising for student applicants.
- Supports management of the study abroad application system, including review of application requirements, maintenance of application system, regular updates to program database and brochures and management of system features.
- Provides study abroad advising to students, including processing study abroad applications, communicating with international partners, and otherwise supporting students applying for study abroad programs.
- Contributes to the oversight of study abroad risk management policies and procedures, and assists directly in health, safety and emergency situations in study abroad.

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience
- Proficiency in a second language.
- Experience working with people from other countries.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with student advising.
- Experience of overseas work or study abroad.
- Experience with crisis management.
Required other
- Ability to travel overseas.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
