General summary

Oversees daily operations of skill building programs designed to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in increasing independence. Coordinates staff, schedules, and individualized service plans while ensuring program quality and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. Collaborates with families, interdisciplinary teams, and community partners to promote person centered outcomes and meaningful skill development.

Major duties

  • Develops new services that meet the program's mission and vision and identify strategic direction.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with University faculty providing services at disability services department.
  • Provides supervision necessary to meet accreditation and contract standards.
  • Supervises personnel assigned and provides the day-to-day operational supervision and leadership of the programs.
  • Provides clinical oversight and supervision of services, ensuring services meet consumer needs and are evidence based.
  • Administers assigned programs and services of the University's disability services.
  • Compiles reports required by funding sources.
  • Manages the allocation of personnel to maintain quality services.
  • Supervises graduate assistants, student internships, and field placements.
  • Works collaboratively with community partners.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Experience sustaining collaborative relationships with community partners.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience supporting individuals with neurocognitive disorders.
  • Experience supervising community-based services for adults.
  • Experience in managing multi-service care program.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Moderate work occasionally working in difficult position or with physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials from 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving materials greater than 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
