General summary

Plans, directs and performs advanced, diversified and confidential administrative assignments for the President and Chief Executive Office of the University. Requires broad and comprehensive experience, skills and knowledge of organizational policies and practices.

Major duties

  • Manages the President’s calendar. Manages all aspects of the President’s daily agenda. Prioritizes and schedules time for the President to ensure equitable exposure to internal and external constituencies.
  • Communicates with internal and external partners who request the President’s presence for meetings, events, don and alumni involvement and community activities. Follows up with requestors regarding speeches, locations and logistics.
  • Acts as a liaison with University’s Market and Strategic Communication team, ensuring President’s remarks and events are scheduled, communicated with all parties, and uploaded to the President’s schedule.
  • Addresses and resolves inquiries referred to the President from administrators, faculty members, students, parents, doners, the Board of Trustees and external constituents.
  • Serves as an executive-level member of the Office of the President, shaping office policy and procedures to ensure campus and community needs are met.
  • Manages travel authorizations, travel logistics and travel reimbursements for the President and First Family.
  • Manages projects and programs as assigned. Supports Director of President’s Staff as needed.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Advanced office software skills.
  • Proficient in enterprise resource planning system and budget management.
  • Experience providing guidance to other employees.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
