General summary

Coordinates and executes marketing and communications projects, supporting engagement, fundraising, and stewardship goals. Oversees daily project workflows, creates and manages social media content, and writes and edits alumni and donor stories for email, web, and social channels. Collaborates with internal teams and campus partners to deliver timely, accurate, and brand-aligned communications.

Major duties

  • Manages day-to-day workflow projects across the department, including intake, timelines, task assignments, routing, and approvals. Tracks progress, resolves bottlenecks, and ensures on-time, on-brand deliverables. Coordinates with designers, writers, videographers, and campus partners from concept to completion.
  • Develops and schedules social media content to support alumni engagement, donor recognition, and Advancement campaigns. Monitors interactions, escalates issues as needed. Identifies real-time engagement and storytelling opportunities. Ensures content aligns with brand and accessibility standards.
  • Researches, interviews, writes, and edits, alumni stories, donor spotlights, and student features for email, web, and social media. Creates recognition and stewardship content that strengthens alumni and donor connections to the University. Supports writing for campaigns, events, and initiatives, ensuring clear, accurate, and on-message communications.
  • Tracks and reports on social media, email, and campaign performance. Identifies trends and recommends improvements to boost effectiveness and reach. Supports data-informed decisions for marketing strategies.
  • Supports surveys, focus groups, and research to understand alumni and donor audiences. Summarizes findings and contributes insights to inform campaign planning and content development.
  • Supports budget tracking, scheduling, procurement card reconciliation, and logistics for donor and alumni events. Maintains organized project files, content calendars, and documentation. Provides general operational support to the marketing team as needed.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience creating engaging content for a variety of audiences and platforms.
  • Proficient in marketing technologies, including email marketing platforms, content management systems, and social media management tools.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications best practices, trends, and emerging technologies.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
