General summary
Provides front-line educational technology support, training, and consultation to instructors across all instructional modalities through in-person, online, email, and phone channels. Supports effective use of learning technologies through direct assistance, resource development, and participation in the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Design (CTLD) initiatives. Applies accessibility best practices and collaborates with campus partners to promote effective and accessible technology use in teaching and learning.
Major duties
- Responds to educational technology support requests by assessing instructor needs, recommending appropriate tools and solutions, assisting with learning management systems and other instructional technologies, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely support through in-person, online, email, and phone channels using an objective or goal first approach to technology support and consultation to ensure educational purpose guides tool use.
- Supports year-round faculty training by creating and maintaining user-focused guides, documentation, and self-service resources that promote effective and independent use of instructional technologies.
- Incorporates accessibility standards, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, into technology support, documentation, and resource development.
- Assists instructors in implementing accessibility features within instructional technologies and learning management systems to support inclusive and compliant course design.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to enhance institutional knowledge resources and improve support response and resolution times. Participates in team meetings and collaborative projects.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging educational technologies, accessibility standards, and industry best practices, participates in professional development, shares expertise with colleagues, and adapts to evolving priorities and institutional needs in support of CTLD mission.
- Tracks support trends and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve services. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and contributes data-informed insights to enhance instructional technology services.
- Assists in managing the physical office space, ensuring equipment and environment issues are forwarded and addressed by appropriate University departments.

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
- Experience in educational technology or educational technology support.
- Knowledge of educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital teaching platforms. Experience providing technology support or training in educational settings.
- Demonstrated experience assessing technology needs and providing solutions. Knowledge of accessibility standards for educational technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and digital tool issues and solve problems independently.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and support requests concurrently.
- Experience using Learning Management System.
- Basic proficiency with educational technology tools, web conferencing platforms, and digital teaching technologies.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
