General summary
Oversees pickleball facility, scheduling, programming, events, and staff management, with a focus on participation, court utilization, and member experience.
Major duties
- Manages finances and oversees budget and member accounts for the department.
- Recruits, trains, and mentors a team of pickleball instructors and event organizers.
- Fosters an inclusive club culture that prioritizes member and guest camaraderie, and long-term retention.
- Develops and oversee a dynamic calendar of leagues, clinics, tournaments, social events and other related activities.
- Interacts with members, actively listens to their needs, and acts on feedback to continuously improve the player experience, and implementing improvements to enhance the player experience.
- Collaborates to promote programs and highlight the pickleball community on social media.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Associate’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
- Experience with the business operations of a sports organization or club.
- Budget management and supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of pickleball rules and rating systems.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification required or the ability to obtain soon after hire.
Physical requirements
Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
