General summary
Manages technical operations for immersive and interactive experiences.
Major duties
- Oversees technical operations during events and productions in CFAAR.
- Manages motion capture, video production, virtual production, podcasting activities for clients in the Virtual Imaging Technology Lab (VITAL).
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots all equipment computers and software in VITAL.
- Manages lighting and sound systems in the Center for Advancing Arts Research (CFAAR).
- Creates and operates lighting and sound cues for events in CFAAR.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Experience with video production.
- Experience working live events.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including some weekends and holidays.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
