General summary
Leads recruitment and enrollment efforts for first-year students in the Chicagoland area by building relationships with high schools, college counseling organizations, prospective students, families, and community partners to strengthen enrollment pipelines. Supports select transfer student populations. This regional position is based in or near Chicago, Illinois.
Major duties
- Manages recruitment and yield efforts within the Chicagoland region to maximize enrollment and market share.
- Develops and implement strategic initiatives to increase prospective student interest and enrollment, while assessing and analyzing recruitment outcomes to drive continuous improvement and achieve enrollment goals.
- Promotes and represents the University at recruitment and yield events, including high school visits, college fairs, community programs, and on- and off-campus events.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders and represents the University on advisory boards, planning committees, and community organizations.
- Creates and monitors reports, analyzes recruitment and yield data, and identifies trends to inform enrollment strategies and decision-making.
- Partners with colleagues across the University to develop and execute recruitment initiatives that attract and serve students from the Chicagoland area.
- Evaluates applications and determine admissions decisions for an assigned geographic region.
- Maintains current knowledge of admissions and enrollment management practices and recruitment technologies.

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Experience in admissions, recruitment, marketing, advising, college counseling, outreach, or other related field.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
Required other
- Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
- Ability to transport, move, and set up recruitment materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work remotely from a designated home office or workspace. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasionally overnight.
- Ability to reside within the assigned service area or otherwise fulfill the travel requirements of the position.
- Must have a valid drivers license when using personal or university vehicle.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position in a variety of environments, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
