October 8th - WMU and KPL Watch Party
"The Great Michigan Gathering is a free, three-year initiative that builds community through the art of intentional gathering. Inspired by Priya Parker‘s book, The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters, the initiative will launch on October 8, 2026, with an event featuring Parker at The Henry Ford. The event will be livestreamed to community watch parties across Michigan" (MIHumanities Website).
We are one of those watch parties! Join us on October 8th at 7pm on WMU's Campus (Sangren Hall - 1910) for community and light refreshments.
This event is part of the Great Michigan Gathering program presented by Michigan Humanities.
October 27th - DREAM Event
Join us for an evening of art, music, poetry, and prose as we explore the multiple meanings and the deep resonance of "Dream(s)" in human lives. Tour the exhibit of student art, vote for the "People's Choice Award," eat delicious food, mingle with friends, listen to jazz and poetry, and take in our featured speakers. This year we'll be joined by CEO of the Kalamazoo Promise, Von Washington Jr., WMU alums Sofia Ovalle and Jacob Pinney Johnson, and WMU's Dr. Jen Bott and Dr. Donald Cooney.
