Alert: Duration of Status Update

On Monday, September 14, 2026, a federal judge in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts granted nationwide preliminary relief preventing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from implementing the final rule ending Duration of Status. 

The final rule was originally scheduled to take effect on September 15, 2026, but this decision blocks the rule from taking effect and prohibits DHS and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from implementing it while the case continues. As a result, the Duration of Status framework remains in place nationwide until further notice. More at wmich.edu/international/immigration/news.

 

Terra Dotta is the international student immigration portal at Western Michigan University. To access the Terra Dotta immigration portal, follow the appropriate instructions based on your current status.

Account Setup

You will receive an email invitation from International Student and Scholar Services to log in to the portal. If you haven’t received this email, check your spam folder or contact International Student and Scholar Services at @email.

Make sure you have activated your Bronco NetID and set your password before attempting to log in.

How to Log In

  1. Go to the Terra Dotta portal login page.
  2. Select the option to log in with your Bronco NetID.
  3. Enter your Bronco NetID and password.
  4. Access your Terra Dotta dashboard.

Account Setup

You will receive an email from International Student and Scholar Services with instructions to set up your account and password. If you haven’t received this email, check your spam folder or contact staff at @email.

How to Log In

  1. Go to the Terra Dotta portal login page.
  2. Select the option to "Login with Portal Account"
  3. Enter your personal email address (the one used to set up your Terra Dotta account) and your password.
  4. If you forgot your password, use the "Forgot Password" link to reset it.
  5. Access your Terra Dotta dashboard

  • For the best user experience, it is recommended to use a computer or tablet to access the portal.
