The Invisible Need Project works to assist students with accessing free or low cost options for course materials, including textbooks and other required course materials. These efforts are focused on working closely with campus partners, including University Libraries, to promote currently available resources and encourage course instructors to adopt or create open access resources.
As of 2012, college textbook prices have increased 812% since 1978. The Consumer Price Index has increased 250% during this time.
