Program Requirements

The goals of the Kalamazoo Promise Scholars Program (KPSP) are to increase retention and graduation rates, develop the student’s sense of belonging at WMU, and strengthen the student’s knowledge of their Promise scholarship and financial aid. THUS, IN ORDER FOR YOUR PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP TO BE RELEASED AND APPLIED TO YOUR ACCOUNT, ALL INCOMING FRESHMEN AND TRANSFER KALAMAZOO PROMISE STUDENTS ATTENDING WMU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

  • Have a meeting with the WMU KPSP Graduate Assistant or Program Director and a success plan on file.
  • Complete a College Success Inventory assessment.
  • Meet with the WMU Kalamazoo Promise Financial Wellbeing and Outreach Specialist to discuss your Kalamazoo promise scholarship award. 

***For any Incoming Fall Semester First-Year students enrolled into the Kalamazoo Promise Section of First Year Experience (FYE 2100) will automatically meet the above requirements in class (no additional appointments needed).
