Other Scholarships and Grants

WMU Office of Financial Aid is your first stop when putting a plan together to fund college. To get the best service and to connect with folks who are familiar with the funding needs of Kalamazoo Promise Scholars, we recommend stopping into Bronco Express in the basement of the Bernhard Center.

Scholarship Universe

Financial Aid also provides an platform for students to search endowed scholarships through Scholarship Universe. (Note.: You'll have to login using this link and your Bronco NetID and password.)

Scholarships by College

Many WMU Colleges offer their own scholarship to students who are studying one of their majors. If you are experiencing a financial hardship related to your education, we also recommend you let your academic advisor know as they may be aware of other funding sources available to students in their program. You should also check your major and minor departmental websites as they may have some scholarships as well (e.g. criminal justice majors would check the website for the Department of Sociology). If you are unsure which department your major is housed in, ask your academic advisor.

Student Emergency Relief Fund

The Student Emergency Relief Fund (SERF) is available to assist students with financial needs outside of the expected costs of education.

Undocumented Students

There are private funds available on a limited basis for non-citizens who are undocumented and are experiencing difficulty funding their education. More information is available on the Financial Aid website.
