Western Michigan University's Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications is the internal and external voice of the University, telling its story on campus and in the community, and communicating a clear and consistent image of WMU as a respected research institution with a dynamic and diverse campus.
Our writers, designers, marketing professionals and electronic communication specialists set the tone and look for the institution; manage the University’s brand, print and digital media; and establish Universitywide standards and guidelines for all communication. The office also is responsible for WMU's web presence and oversees all electronic communication.
In the event of a campus closing or emergency, the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications is responsible for all internal and external communication.

What is the WMU brand and how does it fit into the strategic plan?
The WMU brand and vision are complementary to each other. While they are not the same, they support each other and work simultaneously to strengthen the University and tell its story. WMU is guided by its vision and three pillars. It is defined by its brand.
