Our alumni

When you attend Western Michigan University to pursue a degree in mechanical and aerospace, you will join a growing group of alumni who are impacting our field and advancing many industries.

Dr. Kamlesh Suthar, M.S.’04, Ph.D.’09, is a principal mechanical engineer in the APS Engineering Support Division at Argonne National Laboratory, where he blends deep expertise in multi-physics simulation, acoustics and precision instrumentation with hands-on innovation. Since joining Argonne in 2014, he has led or co-led high-impact projects, securing competitive R&D funding and earning an Argonne IMPACT Award for program development.

Suthar received a College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Alumni Excellence Award in 2025.
