Dale S. Balke COL (Ret) of Kenneth City, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010. Born in Ann Arbor, MI, he came here in 1956 from MI.
He graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, Michigan and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Michigan College.
He served in the United States Army in Germany, Austria and Vietnam.
He was a member of Pasadena Community Church and the DAV. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Balke; sisters-in-law, Helen Hajek and Roberta Wearmouth (John); sons, Gregory (Caroline) and Stephen (Carol); daughters, Suzanne Cox and Cynthia Radcliff (Jerry); 4 grandchildren, Clark Balke (Margo), Jeremy (Regina) and Sarah Cox and Matthew Radcliff (Melissa) and great grandson, Masin Radcliff.
There will be a visitation from 10am till service time at 11am on Wednesday, March 10th at Anderson-McQueen, 7820 38th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. A graveside service will be Thursday 11am at Bay Pines National Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
