Captain Joshua Santos
Bio:

Captain Joshua J. Santos is from Huntsville, Alabama and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant of Ordnance from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama in 2014.

Prior to commissioning, Captain Santos enlisted into the Army in 2003 as a Psychological Operations Specialist. He deployed on multiple overseas tours, to include Balance Piston 2004 (Philippines), Balikatan 2005 (Philippines), two tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom- Philippines (OEF-P) in 2005 and 2006, and two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in 2008 and 2009. He also served as an Observer-Controller/ Trainer at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany from 2010-2012 before he was selected into the Army’s Green to Gold Program.

After graduating from the Ordnance Basic Officer Leader Course, Captain Santos served as the Maintenance Platoon Leader in Bravo Company, 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado and deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Upon redeployment, he was assigned as the Maintenance Control Officer for 64th BSB. Captain Santos also served as the Headquarters and Headquarters Company Rear Detachment Executive Officer and the Maintenance Manager in the Support Operations (SPO) section during his tour in the Mountaineer Battalion. After graduating from the Logistics Captains Career Course, Captain Santos was assigned to the 2nd Sustainment Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Humphreys, South Korea where he served as the S3 Plans Officer for the 194th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. He then assumed command of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade at Camp Humphreys. Captain Santos currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Western Michigan University.

Captain Santos is a graduate of the Logistics Captain Career Course, Ordnance Basic Officer Leader Course, Airborne School, Advanced Leader Course, Basic Leader Course, and Tagalog Language School. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and the Meritorious Unit Award.
