Captain Brandon Torres

Captain Brandon D. Torres is from San Diego, CA and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant of Armor from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA in 2015.

After graduating from the Armor Basic Officer Leader Course, Captain Torres served as a Dismounted Platoon Leader in Charlie Troop, 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Infantry Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky and deployed to Tunisia in support of Regionally-Aligned Forces (RAF) in Africa. He then became an Executive Officer in Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment. Captain Torres also served as the Rear Detachment Operations Officer during the Bulldog Battalion’s deployment to Iraq. After graduating from the Maneuver Captains Career Course, Captain Torres was assigned to the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado as the Assistant Operations Officer in 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment. He then assumed command of Black Knight Troop in 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment for 15 months. Captain Torres currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Western Michigan University.

Captain Torres is a graduate of the Maneuver Captain Career Course, Armor Basic Officer Leader Course, Cavalry Leaders Course, Army Reconnaissance Course, Stryker Leaders Course, Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, and Pathfinder School. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Expert Soldier Badge.

Captain Torres is married and has two dogs.
