Clinton Vearl Drummond, 90, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away on October 9th, 2022.

 

He was born September 12, 1932, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

 

He served in the US Army during the Korean War, returning to Western Michigan then taught High School in Springport Public Schools, retiring in 1984.

 

He is survived by his sons Wayne Lee (Barbara M.) Drummond of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Richard Jay (Clara) Drummond of Holt, MI, Jeffrey Alan Drummond of Marshall, MI, Brian Scott Drummond of Lansing, MI, and Kerry Sue (Ken) Liedel of Harrison, TN.

 

He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Jason (Sarah) Drummond of Gastonia, NC; Mikki (Jim) Black of Stafford, VA, Grayce (Jason) Langheine of York, PA; Meghan and Joshua McCommon of Harrison, TN, and 3 great grandchildren: Jimmy Black of Stafford, VA & Annie(Adam) Mandelblatt of Richmond, VA, and Jasmine Bigelow of Hillsdale, MI.

 

Clinton was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Rae (Lamb) Drummond and his parents, Vearl and Evangeline (Schultz) Drummond, and brothers Glenn M Schultz, Ronald Allen Drummond, David Paul Drummond.


Clinton was a member of the Williamsburg UMC where he was involved as a trustee and sang with the choir. Even as his memory faded, he enjoyed music by tapping out rhythms and singing along with joy. His spare time was spent as a fix-it guy as he helped friends and neighbors. His smiles and handshakes were warm and loving.
