Stanley met the love of his life, Phyllis, at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC on Dec 27, 1958. They married on June 25, 1960 and have four sons, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Stanley was born in Chicago on November 10, 1932 and grew up in the back of his family owned butcher shop. He graduated from St Johns Military Academy. Stanley attended college for one year before being drafted into the US Army where he served in combat during the Korean War.
Following his Honorable Discharge, Stanley completed his undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University. Upon graduation, he received his commission as a 2nd Lt in the US Army. With the Korean War winding down, he took an early out and entered law school where he received his Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
Stanley had a diverse legal background. A few highlights include, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida, General Counsel for the Florida Dept of Education, he appeared before the Supreme Court, was a member of both the Florida and Tennessee Bar Associations, Adjunct Professor at FSU and past President of the National Advocate Society and was presented as their 1997 Man of the Year.
Stanley was a participating member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church since 1966. During that time, he taught many religious classes, was a host couple with Phyllis for Marriage Encounter, was a member of Serra Club, in The Knights of Columbus (4th degree), a Lector and member of the building committee and “chief” fundraiser.
Other organizations dear to his heart were Boys Town, Kosciuszko Foundation and The Order of Knights of Malta.
Stan was very proud of his Polish-American heritage.
Stanley had many accomplishments but what he was most proud of was his four sons.
Stanley is proceeded in death by his parents, Stanley A. and Joanna B. Kupiszewski; as well as three brothers, George, Conrad and Hank and one sister, Grace.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Phyllis; four sons, Stanley J. “Stas” (Cathy), Stephen J. (Jennifer), John A. “Jay” (Kimberly), and Joseph A. (Amy). Dziadz (Polish for Grandfather) is also survived by 13 Grandchildren: Krystan, Michael, Stevie (Brittany), John Mitchell (Courtney), Joseph Alexander (Jessica), Sara (Antonio), Joseph (Rachel), Sister Grace, Ashley, Alexis, Paul, Joanna, Kate and Honorary Grandson, Luke A. Kupiszewski; 8 Great-Grandchildren: Liam (13), Helena (9), Akin (6), Ella (3), Brynlee (3), Emma (8 mon.), Walter (7 mon.), Beckett (5 mon.); along with many nieces and nephews.
