1943 – 2009
Robert Paul Lech of Sharpsburg, Georgia, died peacefully Sunday, August 30, 2009, with his loving family at his bedside, after a courageous battle against cancer, resulting from his exposure to Agent Orange.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan, November 2, 1943, to Frank and Harriet Lech. Bob held a BA an MBA, and is a graduate of the Army War College. Bob served as a combat medic in Vietnam... Bob retired from the military in 1995.
For the past 15 years, Bob, and his wife Jill, were partners in Lech Promotions, Inc. 1n 1998 he won the National Golden Pyramid Award for Excellence in Advertising. Bob loved to mentor start up businesses and those transitioning out of the military.
Bob was an active member of the Newnan Kiwanis Club, COS Senior Go-Getters, VFW, and the American Legion.
Bob loved live theater and supported the Newnan Community Theater and The Atlanta Shakespeare Company. Bob is survived by his wife, Jill, his sons Dan and Jon and their families; his sisters Marlene and Diane and their families.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Jerry. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm September 3, 2009 at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, with reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Community Welcome House, a safe haven for women and children who have left a domestic violence situation.
