John Elton Littell, age 55, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away May 2, 2005.
John was born on June 9, 1949 in Grand Rapids, MI to Jack Russell (deceased) and Dorothy Rita Schmidt Littell.
He graduated from Western Michigan University and following their ROTC program John entered the active military for 13 years serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. Following his active duty, he entered the US Army Reserves for seven years and retired as Lt. Col. in 1996.
John was a stock broker starting with Dean Witter in 1984, now known as Morgan Stanley, retiring in 2002. He was an active member of St. Luke Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Columbia Club and the Yahoo Bandits Group.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his brother, Gregory, and his sister-in-law, Aleta, Littell. John was the Uncle to Lisa, Chris, Kaye and Megan Littell, and had many Aunts, Uncles and many cousins and a special friend, Nela Swinehart. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 9 at 12 Noon in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 423 First St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI. Friends and family may greet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI.
John was a dedicated, kind man who was loyal to his family, friends, church and his country. He loved children and animals and will be greatly missed.
